Publication Ethics and Research Integrity
Cureon is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and research integrity. The journal follows the guidelines and best practices set by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME), and relevant regulatory bodies. Authors must ensure that their work is original, accurately reported, and conducted in accordance with ethical principles. Ethical approval and informed consent for studies involving human participants must be obtained where applicable. Research involving animals is not accepted for processing or publication in the journal.
Plagiarism Policy
All manuscripts submitted to Cureon are screened for textual similarity using plagiarism detection software such as Turnitin. Manuscripts showing a similarity index of 20% or higher may be returned to authors for explanation, revision, or may be rejected outright, depending on the severity and nature of overlap. Plagiarism, self-plagiarism, redundant publication, and improper citation practices are considered serious violations of publication ethics. Authors are fully responsible for ensuring the originality of their work and proper acknowledgment of all sources.
Conflict of Interest Policy
Authors are required to disclose any financial, professional, institutional, or personal relationships that could be perceived to influence the research or interpretation of findings. Such disclosures include, but are not limited to, funding sources, employment, consultancies, honoraria, affiliations, memberships, patents, or data ownership. Conflict of interest statements must be included in the manuscript and submission form. If no conflicts exist, authors should clearly state that there are none to declare.
Funding Disclosure Policy
All sources of financial support for the research, including grants or institutional funding, must be transparently disclosed in the manuscript and during submission. This ensures accountability and transparency in the research process. If no external or internal funding was received, authors must explicitly state that no funding was obtained.
Data Sharing, Repository, and Archiving Policy
Cureon encourages authors to enhance transparency and reproducibility by making supporting data, datasets, and supplementary materials publicly available through recognized institutional or subject-specific repositories where appropriate. Authors may include data availability statements within their manuscripts. The journal permits authors to deposit preprints, accepted manuscripts, and the final published versions of their articles in institutional repositories, personal websites, and other open access platforms, provided proper citation and acknowledgment of the published source is maintained.
Withdrawal Policy
Submission of a manuscript to Cureon implies a commitment to the journal’s editorial and peer review process. Requests for withdrawal must be made formally by email and must include a signed withdrawal request from all listed authors. Electronic signatures are not accepted. A manuscript is considered withdrawn only after written confirmation is issued by the editorial office. Submitting or publishing the same manuscript elsewhere without formal withdrawal constitutes unethical publishing behavior and may result in sanctions.
Retraction and Expression of Concern
Cureon follows COPE guidelines for issuing corrections, expressions of concern, and retractions. Retraction may be necessary in cases of major errors affecting the reliability of findings, plagiarism, duplicate publication, unethical research practices, or serious undisclosed conflicts of interest. Expressions of concern may be issued when potential issues are under investigation. There is no time limitation for issuing retractions or expressions of concern after publication.
Scientific Misconduct Policy
Scientific misconduct includes, but is not limited to, data fabrication or falsification, plagiarism, improper authorship practices, redundant publication, misuse of privileged information, undisclosed conflicts of interest or funding, and violations of ethical or regulatory standards. Allegations of misconduct are investigated promptly and confidentially. During investigations, manuscript processing may be suspended, and appropriate actions are taken in accordance with international ethical guidelines.
Use of Artificial Intelligence Policy
Any use of artificial intelligence tools, including large language models or image-generation software, must be transparently disclosed by authors in the manuscript and cover letter. Artificial intelligence tools cannot be listed as authors, and responsibility for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of the content remains entirely with the human authors. The use of artificial intelligence in peer review is not permitted without prior editorial authorization.
